Climate and Environment
Since 2014, Fred has been committed to ensuring that Saanich is sustainable, affordable, and liveable. Saanich’s new award-winning work on climate action is now a model for other local governments.
Saanich is taking bold action on GHG reduction, park acquisition, and watershed and ecosystem protection. With Fred’s leadership, Saanich leads as a One Planet Community, shifting away from fossil fuels and helping residents do the same.
Working with the community and other levels of government, we’ve added 60 acres of new parks and are protecting ecosystems on private and public lands.
